Wasteland Wanderlust
A solo show by Paul White
Metro Gallery, Melbourne
“There is an eerie silence in Paul White’s gently rendered imagery, an unspoken melancholia, as though the entire world has been ceased via a pause button. But the sheer lack of movement of machines designed for transit is only a part of it.” — metrogallery.com.au
We featured Paul on the blog last year, with his series of painstakingly rendered wrecked car drawings; this time around he presents a series of planes, trains and motorhomes produced from photographs taken on a research trip throughout California and Arizona. These pieces are now showing at the Metro Gallery in Melbourne.
