The Quay

Attended
I went away at the weekend to North Devon as part of a good friends Stag weekend in the delightful town of Combe Martin in North Devon. On our way back after what can only be described as an eventful weekend we thought we would go and check out Damien Hirst’s Verity sculpture in Ilfracombe, the next town over from where we stayed. It was definitely well worth seeing Hirst’s sculpture overlooking the sea towards Wales, almost like something out of Jason and the Argonauts. After this we came across small cafĂ© called The Quay not far from the sculpture and thought we would have a coffee as a pick me up from the events of past couple of days.
After chatting to the manager he cleared up our ideas of who owned the place and yes it was non other than Hirst himself, above are some photos of his work dotted throughout the space & a wonderful view from one of two restaurants upstairs. Definitely well worth the visit.
