A P A R T is a new exhibition showcasing the visual responses of 6 artists to a short story written by Louie Zeegen. The story, conceived specifically for the show, is split into 6 with each artist responding to a different section within the text. The work will take the viewer on a visual journey through the tale of one mans inner thoughts of love, loss and desperation.

The exhibition, held on Sunday 10th August at Terrace Bar in Manchester, will be the culmination of a two day workshop (part of the on-going Music Workshops programme), ran by Jon Bland & Dan Lancaster of the Manchester based creative agency Music.

A limited edition publication of the artists work will be available for purchase on the night. The event is sponsored by G . F Smith and supported by Intern magazine.

Contributors: Mark Simmonds (Werkplaats, Netherlands), Saori Masuda (Chelsea), Rob Headley (LJMU), Liv McCarthy (Leeds Met), Joel Burden (Leeds College of Art) & Rachel Dalton (Brighton).

Specifics
Sunday August 10th. 6:30 – Late. Free Entry.
Terrace (upstairs) Thomas Street, Manchester.

‘After taking over the internship programme at Music, I felt like the usual process of asking students to travel from all over for a 20 minute chat wasn’t the best way to do things, from either parties point of view. I decided a weekend workshop here at our studio, ran by myself and another designer at Music, Dan Lancaster would be more beneficial. The workshops give us a chance to get to know the graduates / students and they come away with a decent insight into Music, as well as portfolio piece. The workshops then feed directly into our internship programme.’

Jon Bland, designer at Music.
