Some truly amazing photography from Reuben Wu, Photographer and co-founder of Ladytron. In his own words:
“A lot of my photographs involve physical labor and meticulous planning due to the remoteness of the locations and the bulk of my camera set-up, so most are very carefully composed. I take inspiration from many sources: the Romantic and Surreal landscape painters of the 19th century, the graphics of science fiction artists such as Chris Foss and Moebius, dystopian authors such as Ballard and Dick and also the photographers Guy Bourdin, Edward Burtynsky and Michael Kenna amongst others.”

Leading workshops, seminars, a skype discussion with New York based designer James Victore, film screenings and creating work alongside design students from the University of Salford in reaction to screen prints from the university’s art collection from the 70′s and 80′s.
The two weeks culminated in a large exhibition of work in the space created by the two studios and the students spanning screenprinting, painting, illustration, collage and zine making; the show welcomed 300 visitors over the weekend of the launch.

Really excited to receive these excellent pieces for a show currently on in Manchester at The Deaf Institute entitled ‘Synthetic/Organic’ by illustrator Alex Lewis. Love the combination of bold colours and textures in wonderful geometric forms in these pieces, I haven’t made it along to see these pieces as of yet but I will do very, very soon and so should you.
