A exhibition by James Victore

If you're lucky enough to find yourself in New York tonight then head over to the aptly named Ace Hotel to see a show of new work by one of our faves James Victore. Featuring a number of James' great ideas and ideals screen printed on top of traditional artwork meaning that we now have art that literally has something to say! Apparently there will be free stickers as if you needed an incentive to go. More of the works can be seen here.

An art show by Jonathan Flanders

Tonight will see the opening of a show of new work by Jonathan Flanders. Jonathan's silk piece that he created for our Happy Accidents show in New York last year was one of my favourites and I believe that there will be more work printed onto fabric as a part of this show alongside prints of photographs taken this past year and his new book which will be available for the first time tonight.

A monument by Daniel Pickles & Steve Hockett

Last month I had the pleasure of going to the opening (and indeed closing) of the 'Intangible Bibelobis' a fantastic monument created by Daniel Pickles and Steve Hockett. Born of 55 kilograms of pink and white marshmallow, tyres and wood and having the wonderfully grotesque appearance of  John Carpenter's 'The Thing' the Intangible Bibelobis stood at over 3 metres tall with proof of it's creation carefully exhibited around the space and the sweet smell of mallow putting to bed any fears that the creatures flesh was thankfully a sweet treat as opposed to the ectoplasm it appeared to be on first inspection. It was fantastic to see both children and adults alike approaching the beast and poking or in some occasions licking it. Kudos should be given to the Cornerhouse Micro Commissions project for funding such a wonderfully leftfield idea, more of the same in future would certainly be welcomed in Manchester.
